In mid-October, MKJ traveled to San Antonio, Texas, to the Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) Conference, a national conference for Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFIs). For the past 8 years, MKJ Creative has designed the conference brand for Opportunity Finance Network and this year, we had the privilege of designing the conference website as well.
While at the conference, MKJ was able to share its services to the many CDFIs that are making a true difference in this country – and we don’t say that lightly. Many inspirational success stories were shared throughout the week, which further solidified our belief that partnering with OFN as a supplier has been very fulfilling. At MKJ, we desire to help our clients succeed through products and services that enable them to stand out from the crowd. When our clients win, we feel like winners too.
One success story shared during the conference surrounded Create Jobs for USA, the partnership effort between Starbucks and Opportunity Finance Network to create and sustain jobs in underserved communities. According to Howard Schultz, President and CEO of Starbucks, in just one year, Create Jobs for USA collected $15 million in donations that have been leveraged by community lenders to support about $105 million in small and community business financing and have created and sustained approximately 5,000 jobs. Read more from Howard Schultz on the initiative here.
In order to bring awareness to those whose hard work and innovation are making a difference in this country, MKJ Creative is holding a giveaway through December 14, 2012, for a $100 gift card to Starbucks and a Create Jobs for USA wristband. Connect with MKJ Creative on Facebook or Twitter for a chance to win.
